The cheese chick is from www.familyfun.com. The ants on a log look like raisins on peanut butter to me...haha! ;o)

Thomas & James

My little boy is so happy today! Monica, a dear friend from Germany, sent a package to Brian today full of Thomas DVDs and a little Thomas and James. Her sons, David and Matthew, had outgrown them and they were sweet enough to share with Brian. What a treat and what a happy mama and boy! Since I opened the box this afternoon they have barely left his little hands. He is upstairs playing with them now (when he should be sleeping). Before his bath he hid Thomas and James under his cover (I guess he was afraid someone might come along and take them)....How funny is that? When I was drying him off he ran straight to his bed to collect them again and hasn't let them go since. He was holding Thomas as I read a Thomas book to him and he was one happy little boy.....so content!

Brian has been doing so well in school. Today his physical therapist said that she opened up a tunnel and told Brian to climb through it.....and that Brian was making the 'Tttt' sound the entire time.....He has been making 'Tttt', 'Ffff' and 'Ssss' sounds all night and it makes me so happy! I hope he starts talking soon....I want to know what my little man is thinking so badly.....and more than anything I want to hear him say he loves me......I know he does but I can't wait to hear him say it. :o)

We're very excited about Jen and Betti's trip tomorrow.....Brian can't wait to be spoiled with attention and he hears he got some pretty cool birthday presents from them and can't wait to open them.... :o)

Here are some pictures for you to enjoy..... :o)

Have a great night!

Animal Chips

I found these on www.familyfun.com

I used whole wheat tortillas, instead of flour, and cut them out with cookie cutters. Lightly spray the cut-outs with cooking spray and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. Bake at 350F for 5-7 minutes. The original recipe said sprinkle with salt....but I decided to try something sweeter. :o)

Simplicity

I'm so busy until the end of Brian's summer preschool (Aug. 14th)....so his lunches are going to be a bit simple until then.... :o)

Brian did AWESOME at school today! They said he sat still in circle time (usually he is all over the place and one of the aides has to sit with him or he sits in their lap).....but today he sat all by himself and listened. He's making great eye contact and is really enjoying the routine. He finally showed them how smart he is today and was identifying the entire transportation puzzle when they asked him where a vehicle was....I told them he has been able to do that on some days but then the next he won't....I wonder who he gets his stubbornness from? ;o) Brian really impressed them today....Way to go little man! :o)

We thought Morgan would be leaving Iraq in the next day or two but it looks like it might not be until next week. :o( Apparently a general was not informed well enough about several Soldiers returning from the deployment early to attend classes....so he's going to meet with some others in the next week to decide when they all get to fly out....At this rate, I'm just hoping Morgan makes it for Brian's bday party on the 14th.....Bummer!

Ok...off to be productive and try to clean a bit so my house isn't a filthy mess when Jen and Betti get here on Thursday... :o)

So excited! :o)

We have had HUGE holes in the front of our houses all along our street for several weeks now. National Grid....yes the same ones that killed my little baby tree by mistake, are replacing an old gas line. They finally finished in front of our house today and brought in a bunch of dirt to fill the holes. Brian was so very excited to see all the construction vehicles and workers....He stood at the door and on his step stool nearly the entire time. Boys and trucks! :o)

Caged zoo animals :o)

I got this idea from another mom in Mom's Club. :o)
